Mid-week Walk and Christmas Lunch at the Watermill at Ings

18 members and friends had a lovely short walk from Ings on a glorious December morning. After coffee in the Watermill (what no mince pies?) the group walked to School Knott via Whasdike and back over Grandsire, building up an appetite for lunch in the Watermill. A grand short day to round off a year of great mid-week walks.

The view below was taken on School Knott, with from left to right - Ann, Margaret Atkinson, Val, Ruth, Roger, Sue, Norman, Margaret Cooper, Angie, Irene, Tony, Graham, Clare, John, Les, Mick, and Fred, with Hugh behind the camera.

Lovely reflections in School Knott Tarn.

Lovers of the night sky were rewarded this week as the International Dark Sky Association awarded Dark Sky status to the Island of Coll and to the Northumberland Dark Sky Park (a combination of Northumberland National Park and Kielder Water and Forest Park). How about asking if High House would qualify for this!

A cracking day on Tuesday Dec 17th made for a lovely sunset, here caught by Mick from Whinfell Beacon
